The victim of a fatal shooting in Richmond on Monday has been identified by the Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office as Demetra Brock, 50, of Richmond.
Police responding to a ShotSpotter gun detection system activation at 5:23 a.m. found Brock suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the 300 block of Maine Avenue. She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Police have not announced an arrest or a motive in connection with the murder. The incident marked the 18th homicide in Richmond in 2021.
