A fire at an abandoned, boarded-up North Richmond home on Tuesday was brought under control within 10 minutes and contained to one room, according to Richmond Firefighters Local 188.

At 8 p.m., Richmond firefighters responded to the 1600 block of 2nd Street to assist Contra Costa County Fire with the blaze at the home.

“[RFD Engine 62] arrived first at scene and found fire coming front the front bedroom and exterior of an abandoned boarded up residence,” said Richmond Firefighters Local 188, which posted video from the incident on social media. As usual, E62 quickly went to work suppressing the fire and gaining access into the building as additional resource arrived at scene.”

No injuries were reported.
