The suspect in an attempted robbery on Hilltop Drive in Richmond on Wednesday was arrested with help from a police drone, police said.

Just after 7:30 a.m., Richmond police officers responded to the 2600 block of Hilltop drive on a call about an attempted robbery, Capt. Al Walle said.

Police learned a man tried to rob a construction worker at gunpoint, believing the victim worked at a nearby marijuana dispensary, Walle said.

“Upon realizing his error, the suspect left the scene and was located by officers who utilized a police drone to find him,” the police captain said.

The suspect, who was found in possession of a replica firearm, was arrested without incident, walle said.
