The ShotSpotter gunshot detection system alerted Richmond police to nearly 30 rounds being fired within a block area of the Iron Triangle neighborhood early Saturday.

At 2:39 a.m., police responded to ShotSpotter activations reporting five rounds in the 300 block of Chanslor Avenue, eight rounds in the 300 block of Bissell Avenue and 16 rounds in the 200 block of 4th Street, according to Richmond police Capt. Al Walle.

Shortly after the shootings, a victim arrived at Kaiser Richmond, but he was uncooperative with police, Walle said.

Further details about the incident, including the condition of the victim, wasn’t immediately available.

  1. “Un-cooperative”. Many will ask why you are cooperating to keep people who participate in this gun violence alive. Can you imagine what is going through the minds of people that live in that area. Especially those with kids? Drain the Richmond swamp.
