Target at 4500 Macdonald Ave. in Richmond plans to extend its hours during the holiday season and expand its alcoholic beverage offerings to include distilled spirits, according to city planning documents.

Currently, the store operates from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. It plans to open from 7 a.m. to midnight after Thanksgiving Day through Dec. 23.

Target is also requesting an amendment to its conditional use permit to expand its offerings to include distilled spirits. Currently, the store is permitted to sell only beer and wine. Target says its addition of distilled spirits is part of the store’s expansion of grocery items.

“Adding distilled spirits will offer customers a more complete shopping experience and will provide an added convenience to Target’s customers by eliminating the need for an additional shopping trip,” the store’s operators state in city documents.
