A 15-year-old Oakland boy was dropped off at Kaiser Hospital in Richmond with a gunshot wound to his thigh Saturday night, police said.
The boy told police he was a passenger in a car attending a sideshow at 1st Street and Nevin Avenue when his car was struck by gunfire, according to Richmond police Capt. Al Walle.
Officers had responded to that intersection just before 10:56 p.m. Saturday after being signaled by the ShotSpotter gunshot detection system, which indicated 13 rounds had been fired, Walle said.
