The Richmond Police Department Traffic Unit will hold a DUI and driver’s license checkpoint on Barrett Avenue near Marina Way the night of Aug. 28, police said.
Traffic delays are anticipated in the area at the time of the operation.
It’s the latest of several checkpoints being held in areas around the city. Earlier checkpoints were conducted at 23rd Street and Bissell Avenue on July 31; on Hilltop Drive on July 3; and on Richmond Parkway near West Macdonald Avenue on Feb. 28.
“The purpose of the checkpoint is to get unlicensed and impaired drivers off our city streets,” police said.
This checkpoint is made possible by assistance from the California Office of Traffic Safety and grant funding.If in the area, anticipate traffic delays.
