GRIP seeks volunteers to help prep 800 meals daily for County's homeless
GRIP shelter located at 165 22nd St. in Richmond.

By Mike Kinney

The dining area at the Greater Richmond Interfaith Program (GRIP) facility on 22nd Street in Richmond is closed, but the kitchen remains busy prepping hundreds of meals daily to support homeless residents in Contra Costa County during this time of need.

That said, volunteers are being sought to support the preparation of 800 daily meals at the GRIP center at 165 22nd St. Bagged lunches and soup are passed out at the center from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. every day of the week.

GRIP staff need help to prep, cook and serve meals.

All volunteers have to do is call (510) 233-2141 and speak with the Kitchen Manager to make arrangements.
