The Richmond Police Department is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and charges of those responsible for fatally shooting Richard Doss III in June 2018.

The homicide occurred June 24, 2018 just after 8:45 p.m., when police were dispatched to the area of 23rd Street and Barrett Avenue on reports of shots fired and a traffic collision.

Doss was found alone in his vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds and he died at the scene, police said.

Despite months of investigation, all leads were exhausted and the case remains ongoing.

Detectives are looking for assistance in identifying the person or persons who were riding in a dark colored Jeep Cherokee in the same area and time as the fatal shooting.

“Our detectives would like to talk to those people in the vehicle,” police said.

Any person with information on who those individuals are, is asked to contact Homicide Det. Mike Sagan at (510)620-6622, at [email protected] or by contacting Richmond’s anonymous tip line at (510) 621-1212 x1933.
