AAA is reaching out to local residents about job opportunities as battery/light service drivers and tow operators for the company’s new Richmond club-owned fleet.
Joseph Jackson, a Richmond native who is leading the charge of the recruitment and community engagement for AAA’s new Richmond Fleet, is inviting local area residents to a job fair this Thursday at its Concord Office at 165 Mason Circle in Concord. The fair will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
AAA has never operated its own corporate fleet in Richmond. Previously, it operated in the area through contract companies. Now, it has a facility in Richmond that houses both vehicles and its fleet management offices within the same facility, Jackson said.
“Our fleet has been operating since November in this area but out of our Concord fleet office,” Jackson said. “But now we are in our own office.”
Starting pay for open positions is $20.81 per hour, with a 5 percent increase after six months; benefits effective after 30 days (Medical, Dental & Vision plan); company match in 401K up to 6 percent and 3 percent annual pay incentive based on performance; 15 paid holidays; company uniforms and $200 boot reimbursement; tuition reimbursement up to $5,800 per year; and upward mobility.
To be eligible, applicants must be 21 years or older, have a high school diploma or GED, a valid California drivers license, Class C; and must be willing to submit to and pass a five-panel drug screening and criminal history check (background check).
Those who can’t make Thursday’s job fair are encouraged to visit the Concord office and tell them they want to “join Richmond,” according to AAA.
