On Thursday at noon, Rich City Apparel, the “official licensed apparel company for the City of Richmond,” will celebrate its ribbon-cutting. The new shop owned by Osaretin Ogbebor and Lejerr Collins sells Richmond-themed apparel and souvenirs in the Downtown Richmond Visitor Center at the Richmond BART Station at 1600 Nevin Plaza.
Visitors to the shop will also be able to tap the Visitor Center resources, such as information about Richmond attractions, points of interest and can’t-miss local businesses.
The hourlong ribbon-cutting ceremony will be attended by a number of local dignitaries including Mayor Tom Butt.
“The store will create a lasting impression of Richmond in the minds and hearts of shoppers and visitors, thereby setting the tone for the rest of the downtown shopping experience and breathing new life into existing and future retail developments,” according to the Richmond Main Street Initiative (RMSI).
RMSI, also located in the Downtown Richmond Visitor Center, is a community-based nonprofit dedicated to revitalizing historic Downtown Richmond.
