Two people were injured, one critically, in a shooting in the 400 bock of Chanslor Avenue in Richmond’s Iron Triangle neighborhood Thursday afternoon, police said.
At 3:42 p.m., officers responded to a Shotspotter activation and learned while en route there were two victims, Richmond police Sgt. Enrik Melgoza said. One victim self-transported to Kaiser Hospital and is in stable condition.
The other victim was located at the scene and was airlifted to John Muir Hospital, and remains in critical condition, Melgoza said.
“Detectives are currently on scene investigating,” Melgoza said. “At this point, we have no further information regarding suspect vehicle or persons involved.”
Police asked the community to avoid 4th Street and Chanslor Ave as police are investigating the scene.
