A San Pablo man found deceased at the train tracks near Parr Boulevard and Giant Road on Thursday was likely struck by a train and did not suffer from a gunshot wound as initially suspected, an autopsy revealed.
Authorities responded to the tracks at about 10:45 a.m. and found the body of 40-year-old William Cody Tate, according to the Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff.
Sheriff’s deputies said it appeared Tate had suffered from a gunshot wound and homicide investigators took on the case. But in an autopsy conducted Friday, a forensic pathologist found no evidence of a gunshot wound and determined Tate suffered blunt force trauma consistent with being struck by a train.
