The Richmond Police Department has released surveillance video footage with the aim of identifying the suspect or suspects involved in a triple shooting on Thursday. The occupants of a blue Ford Explorer “may have information related to the case,” police said.
The shooting occurred at 3:47 p.m. in the 3100 block of Esmond Avenue. The three victims were sitting in a car when they were shot. The victims who died have been identified as Vishal Maharaj, 32, of Richmond, and Tyzion Harris, 18. A third victim is in critical condition, police said.
KTVU-Ch. 2 interviewed Maharaj’s grieving father, who described his son as “happy-go-lucky and shy” and said he doesn’t know what prompted the “senseless” killing. He urged those responsible to turn themselves in and ask for forgiveness.
Those with information on the case are encouraged to contact Detective Decious at (510) 621-1747 or the RPD anonymous tip line at (510) 621-1212 x 1933.
