East Brother Beer Co. just won another big award for its beer.

At the California Craft Brewers Cup in Long Beach, part of the California Craft Brewers Association’s annual conference, the Richmond-based brewery’s Bo Pils took the Gold Medal in the Bohemian-style Pilsner category.

The recognition has Rob Lightner, co-founder of East Brother Beer Co., “super-excited.”

“Feels good to get some recognition for all the hard work everyone puts in day to day,” Lightner said.

We recommend that our readers check out an article on the competition in SFGate, which noted that of 11 Bay Area breweries that earned 14 gold medals, six were from the East Bay. Read the full report here.

In June, East Brother Beer Co. won gold at the 2019 California State Fair for its Oatmeal Stout in the “Foreign Export Stout” category.

The brewery previously won recognition by receiving six nominations in five categories in the Best of Oakland and the East Bay readers’ choice competition by Oakland Magazine.
