A popular eatery in Richmond’s Marina Bay neighborhood is applying with the city to obtain a license to sell beer and wine to customers, and to also open Saturday evenings.
The Artisan Kitchen & Café at 865 Marina Bay Parkway is seeking a conditional use permit to serve alcoholic beverages along with its gourmet sandwiches and salads, according to city documents. City staff are recommending that the Planning Commission approve the permit.
The family-owned café opened in 2007. It currently operates daily from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Owner Liane Ingham plans to adjust the schedule, however, to return to the business’ original hours: Mondays through Fridays, 7:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., Saturdays from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Sundays from 8 p.m. to 3 p.m., according to city documents.
In April, writer Kathy Chouteau raved about her visit to cafe, lauding its fare as “extremely fresh, flavorful and made with an artful touch.” Read her full report here.
