Richmond ‘block party’ a one-stop spot for city, county services

Richmond City Hall, 450 Civic Center Plaza

Need to sign up CalFresh, Medi-Cal or Veterans benefits?

Perhaps you need copies of vital records, a library card, or information on college scholarships, employment opportunities, voter registration, energy efficiency rebates, animal vaccination vouchers…pretty much anything government related?

You’ll be glad to year about a block party coming to Richmond Civic Center Plaza on Thursday, Aug. 15.

The city and county are partnering for a third year on the Summer Block Party, which will take place from 5-7:30 p.m. at the plaza at 27th Street and Nevin Ave. The event is a one-stop resources center allowing residents to take care of a number of to-dos without having to make multiple stops to government offices.

The event isn’t all business: it’s family-friendly and festive, with prizes.
