On Monday, Aug. 5, Congressman Mark DeSaulnier will hold a town hall in Richmond on immigration.
DeSaulnier plans to share what he witnessed during two visits to immigration detention facilities on the U.S. southern border.
The town hall will take place at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 159 Harbour Way South, at 6:30 p.m.
Desaulnier also plans to share the work he is doing in Congress to protect immigrant rights and ensure detainees are treated with dignity. The town hall will also feature a panel of experts to discuss immigration issues such as asylum law, about the battle over the citizenship question in the Census, and immigration raids.
Legal resources and information about immigrant rights will be available in English and Spanish, and a translator will also be on hand during the event.
