The Richmond Police Department recently issued 32 citations and made two DUI arrests during a pedestrian safety operation at Macdonald Avenue and 15th Street.
The operation was planned after RPD received complaints from the community regarding vehicles not stopping for pedestrians, police said.
“Officers targeted vehicles who failed to stop for pedestrians in the marked crosswalk,” police said. “Remember, if a pedestrian is attempting to cross the street, in either a marked or unmarked crosswalk, you have a duty to yield to them. Please help us in keeping our pedestrians safe by keeping a watchful eye out for them and by following this law.”
