
All occupants escaped unharmed from a house fire in North Richmond today, according to Local 188, the union representing Richmond firefighters.
The mid-afternoon fire sent firefighters to a home near 3rd Street and Chesley Avenue.
“Within minutes of receiving the call, Engine 62 was geared up and getting water on the fire,” firefighters said. “Their quick actions, along with the support of Engines 61,67,68,70, & Truck 64, prevented the fire from spreading to the rest of the house.”
Local 188 shared these photos from the blaze on Facebook and expressed pride in serving the Richmond community.
“We’re here for you 24hrs a day, 365 days a year,” the Facebook post stated, adding, “Honored to serve our community and keep you safe.”
