A woman is in stable condition following a self-inflicted cut to her throat on Tuesday, an apparent response to a bad breakup, according to Richmond police.
Police responded to a home in the Richmore Village neighborhood just before 7 p.m. Tuesday after a caller reported that his ex-girlfriend had arrived at his house and was threatening to commit suicide over their breakup, Richmond police Capt. Al Walle reported.
Responding officers learned the victim had locked herself in a bedroom. They kicked the door open and found her with the self-inflicted injury.
She was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment and a mental health evaluation, Walle said.
