Everyone’s favorite WWII Victory ship—Richmond’s Red Oak Victory—is readying its galley to serve up its first Pancake Breakfast of the season on Mother’s Day, May 8 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Tickets to the breakfast are $15 for adults and $5 for children age 8 and under and includes freshly made pancakes, sausage, bacon and scrambled eggs, as well as apple slices, coffee and orange juice. Adults can also purchase mimosas for an additional fee.

Providing live musical entertainment that morning will be The Sites Show, which ship personnel describe as being “a fun blend of North and South American Rock ‘n Roll.” Along with the pancakes and music, a limited number of docent-guided tours of the ship will be offered at a discounted rate.

“Red Oak Victory is ideally situated for panoramic views of the entire San Francisco Bay and adjacent cities,” stated ship personnel, who suggested that, after breakfast, guests “enjoy a tour of the ship or just sit, chat with new friends and enjoy the view.” While the breakfast wraps up at 1 p.m., the ship remains open until 4 p.m.

The Mother’s Day Pancake Breakfast is the first in a series aboard the ship during 2022. Other Pancake Breakfasts are scheduled for: Father’s Day, June 19; End of WWII commemoration, Aug. 15; Commemorating First Responders, Sept. 11; and Fleet Week, Oct. 9. Tickets and more info will be available online about a month before these events.
