This summer, patrons of Lara’s Fine Dining on the Richmond waterfront can take in more than the bay views; they can also enjoy artwork by Arts of Point Richmond (AOPR) artists both inside the eatery and out.
“Filling the many rooms of Lara’s are 40 works of art by 16 artists, ranging from abstract to calligraphy and still life to landscape,” stated AOPR, a volunteer association that promotes support, appreciation and exposure for the arts.
Outside the restaurant—and building upon AOPR’s latest project, “Taking It Outdoors”—artists and concept creators Kenoli Oleari and Sharon Goode have also hung seven new banners as an extension to the 50 banners already hanging outdoors throughout downtown Point Richmond.
“They believe art should be outdoors as well as in,” AOPR said about Goode and Oleari, who created the banners at his shop.
“The seven eye-catching banners hanging at Lara’s exude joy and free spiritedness,” stated the association, adding that “Rosie the Riveter even makes an appearance.”
