Blue Angels, bluegrass and BBQ will come together for the annual Harvest Pig Roast and BBQ at Riggers Loft Wine Company on the afternoon of Saturday, Oct. 12.
The festive event from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. coincides with Fleet Week, allowing for views of the spectacular airshow performed by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels and other aircraft.
The all-ages Harvest Pig Roast takes place on the bayfront patio at Riggers Loft in Richmond’s historic Shipyard District. Renowned local band the Rusty String Express will perform, and BBQ pork and chicken, scrumptious sides and dessert will be served. Meanwhile all afternoon, the critically-acclaimed wines and cider made on-site by R&B Cellars, Carica Wines, and Far West Cider Company, will be available for purchase.
“Adults can fill their glass with locally made wines and ciders to go with their plate of BBQ,” said Barbara Brown of R&B Cellars. “Then we’ll watch the aerial show over San Francisco Bay, and enjoy live music. I might be biased, but this is the Bay Area’s most scenic winery!”
General admission is $45, $30 for children 7-16, and free for children 6 and under. You can buy tickets online here or by visiting the Tasting Room during usual hours, Wednesday through Sunday.
