UPS announced today that it is still hiring seasonal workers at its Bay Area facilities in anticipation of the annual increase in package volume that will continue through January.
Local UPS facilities hiring seasonal workers include Richmond at 1601 Atlas Road; Oakland at 8400 Pardee Drive; San Francisco at 2222 17th St.; San Jose at 1999 S. 7th St.; Sunnyvale at 1245 Hammerwood; and San Ramon at 4500 Norris Canyon Road.
Wages for some seasonal positions have increased to $38 per hour.
Last month, UPS stated the goal of hiring 3,000 Bay Area seasonal workers to support the annual increase in package volume that will continue through January 2021. Nationally, UPS expects to hire over 100,000 seasonal employees.
“At a time when millions of Americans are looking for work, these jobs are for many an opportunity to start a new career with UPS, the company said.
About 35 percents of seasonal hires were later hired on to full time positions over the last three years. Eligible employees can also earn up to $1,300 toward college expenses, in addition to their hourly pay, for three months of continuous employment.
