A 40-year-old man was fatally shot in Pinole this morning, police said.
At 9:14 a.m., Pinole police responded to a call of multiple gunshots fired with people yelling in the 1000 block of Bay View Farm Road, police said. Arriving officers found a man in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, identified as Pinole resident Lamont Carter, was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to police, the “initial investigation indicates the victim was targeted and this was not a random attack.”
