Public safety cameras helped police locate and arrest two suspects shortly after a shooting in San Pablo on Tuesday that injured one person.
San Pablo police responded to an evening call about a shooting in front of a home on 22nd Street, where they found a victim suffering from gunshot wounds that were not life threatening.
With help from public safety cameras, officers were able to identify the suspect vehicle and share that information with all law enforcement agencies in the County, the San Pablo Police Department said.
Within one hour of the shooting, an Oakley police officer heard the broadcast and set up near the home of the vehicle’s registered owner in Oakley.
“Sure enough the vehicle returned home and the suspects were safely detained and arrested,” police said.
San Pablo police detectives responded to the home and recovered two firearms and ammo from inside the vehicle.
Today, the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office filed multiple felonies including assault with a deadly weapon and shooting from a vehicle against 19-year-old Oakley resident Marilu Negrete, and 20-year-old Concord resident Jeremiah Jasper.
