The suspect in the murder of a man at a home in the Montalvin Manor neighborhood on Sunday is the victim’s brother, according to the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office.

Jason Mosqueda, 39, of Richmond has been arrested in connection with the murder of Edward Mosqueda, 42, of Concord.

Just after 7 p.m. Sunday, the sheriff’s office responded to a home in the 1700 block of Lettia Road after a resident reported that her injured son was unresponsive.

Deputies arrived and started CPR on the victim but he was later pronounced deceased, the sheriff’s office said.

An investigation led to the identification of Jason Mosqueda as the suspect.

“He was located by deputies several blocks away” and arrested without incident, the sheriff’s office said.

Jason Mosqueda is being held on suspicion of murder and violating a protective order. At the time of his arrest, he also had arrest warrants for domestic violence, elder abuse, stalking and violation of a protective order, the sheriff’s office said. He is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
