The Ed Fund is rallying community support for West Contra Costa Unified School District (WCCUSD) families in need during the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis.
In a statement on its website, the Richmond-based nonprofit appealed for donations to its COVID-19 School Closure Fund to help the WCCUSD community’s most vulnerable with key resources.
“During school closures and the COVID-19 crisis, the Ed Fund will be directing community donations to support families in need identified by the WCCUSD Office of Family & Community Engagement. Support could include groceries, internet services and other emergency needs that help stabilize families during this crisis.”
According to the Ed Fund, donations are unrestricted unless donors indicate a specific area that they would like their donation directed toward. “Donations made to fiscal projects and to adopt-a-school funds are restricted to those purposes,” the Ed Fund noted on the donation page.
“It means a lot to us that you support the work we are doing for our students,” the nonprofit added.
The Ed Fund’s mission is to mobilize resources for students and align the efforts of its partners to ensure that all students succeed in college, career and life.
