Point Richmond Gallery will host an exhibition titled Wehrle’s World featuring artist John Wehrle from March 15 through April 26. The opening reception occurs Sunday, March 15, from 1-5 p.m. The gallery is located at 145 West Richmond Ave.
Andi Biren curated the exhibit with support from Arts of Point Richmond. The collection includes the work Osprey’s Victory. Following the opening, the gallery will be open to the public on weekends from 1-5 p.m.
Wehrle is a prolific Richmond-based artist whose work has shaped the city’s urban landscape for over five decades. In 2018, the Richmond City Council proclaimed him the greatest single contributor to public art murals in the city. Among his most recognized local projects include the 75-foot-tall mural at the Richmond Plunge, the Ferry Point Tunnel mural, and “Revisionist History” at San Pablo and Barrett avenues.
