San Pablo police officers arrested a man on felony probation after discovering four loaded firearms inside his vehicle during a recent traffic enforcement stop.

The incident began when a swing shift officer observed a vehicle committing multiple traffic violations and initiated a stop to investigate the infractions, according to the San Pablo Police Department.

Upon contacting the driver, officers determined the individual was on felony probation. Under California law, individuals with felony convictions are strictly prohibited from owning or possessing any firearms. This legal status allowed officers to conduct a search of both the suspect and the vehicle to ensure compliance with probation terms.

As the suspect exited the vehicle, officers said they located two loaded firearms sitting directly next to the driver’s seat. A subsequent search of the interior revealed two additional loaded firearms. All four weapons were positioned within easy reach of the driver.

The suspect was taken into custody and transported to jail on multiple weapons charges.
