The U.S. Postal Service is hosting several hiring events this month to fill immediate openings in Northern California, with one being held at 4180 Lakeside Drive in Richmond from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Feb. 14.
Staff will help people create profiles and apply for jobs on the spot. Most open roles are in mail processing, delivery, transportation, and maintenance.
Other hiring fairs are taking place in Concord and Oakland today, with a second Oakland session tomorrow. Next week, the tour moves to Sacramento on Monday and Vallejo on Tuesday. The final fairs will be held in Stockton on Feb. 13 and Richmond on Feb. 14.
To apply, you must be 18 years old (or 16 with a high school diploma) and be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. All candidates must pass a drug test. Since many jobs involve driving, you need a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. New drivers will also receive special vehicle safety training.
The Postal Service provides full benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance. Employees also earn paid vacation and sick leave. These hiring events are part of a national plan to modernize the mail system and improve local service. You can also find more details and apply online at the USPS careers website.
