Triangle Works, a nonprofit which runs a community art space called The Shed, recently celebrated the unveiling of a mural on Appian Way called “We Are All in This Together,” in collaboration with artist Yulia Pinkusevich and community members.

The mural’s unveiling took place Saturday, June 14, with Contra Costa County Supervisor John Gioia, Richmond City Councilmember Soheila Bana and community members on hand to celebrate.

“This mural hopes to educate our communities about the local watershed and the inter species communities who rely on these natural resources. We are all in this together,” stated Pinkusevich on her Instagram page.

The mural was a year in the making for artist Pinkusevich and Triangle Works, and was painted in May of this year. The mural site is nearby Appian Creek and next door to a site that suffered a fire more than a year ago. This led to an underused parking lot with trash, according to a Go Fund Me page seeking support for the mural.

“We hope the new mural brings joy to all and will help this prominent spot elevate our community,” stated fundraisers on the Go Fund Me page. Click here to donate.
