The Junior Giants summer program in Richmond is welcoming signups.
The Junior Giants is a free, coed, noncompetitive baseball and softball summer program for local youth, said Edith Deleon, Richmond Junior Giants Ambassador. The league starts June 10.
“The Junior Giants offers youth a chance to learn the basics of baseball/softball during the summer while also discovering the importance of essential life skills such as education, health, striking out bullying, and character development,” Deleon said.
Families are not required to purchase gear to join and participate. This season, each player will receive a reversible Giants jersey, baseball and softball pants, a hat/visor, a glove (f you don’t have your own), water bottle and weekly baseball cards. At the end of the season, the kids will receive an exclusive bobblehead.
