The City of Richmond this week announced that the opening date of its new farmers market at Marina Bay Park will be Sunday, April 7.
The kick-off event will feature fresh produce, music, and activities for the full family from 10 a.m to 2 p.m.
The event will be located in the parking lot off Regatta Blvd. and Melville Square.
As previously reported, this new farmers market will occur Sundays and it will not replace the existing market that operates at Richmond Civic Center. That market continues to operate Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the parking lot at 24th Street and Barrett Avenue. Both markets are operated by the Richmond Certified Farmers Market Association.
