Contra Costa County Library reached a new milestone with 1.9 million digital books borrowed in 2023. The County Library is 50th of all standalone libraries and one of 152 total public library systems worldwide that surpassed one million digital checkouts in the last calendar year.

The Library system provides readers with access to content like ebooks, audiobooks, magazines and comic books through the Libby app created by OverDrive. It also offers movies and TV shows through Kanopy.

Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros was the highest-circulating title readers borrowed from Contra Costa County Library last year. The top-circulating genre is romance.
