The San Pablo EDC is inviting local job seekers to a virtual Green Energy Career Day on Wednesday, April 26, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. via Zoom.
At this event, staff from MCE, a clean energy provider serving Contra Costa, Solano, Marin and Napa counties, will talk about their organization and the job and internship opportunities they have available, as well as about career pathways into the green energy industry and potential trainings. Attendees will be able to submit questions via chat and have them answered live. And, MCE staff will be counseling attendees about how to apply for their jobs and internships.
The Green/Sustainable/Renewable Energy industry is booming, with hundreds of different kinds of jobs needed, including solar panel installers and recycling workers and environmental technicians. Currently, the green energy sector generates about nine million jobs in the U.S., a number projected to rise to 24 million by 2030, or to 14 percent of all employment in the nation.
“And not only is the industry booming, but green energy jobs are very well paid and benefitted and can often be achieved with fairly short-term training and certification,” San Pablo EDC officials state.
