Aiming to increase public accessibility, the Contra Costa Board of Supervisors has assigned a Spanish language interpreter to all of its meetings. The board will also continue to offer live closed captioning.
According to the County, Spanish-speaking callers now have access to a Spanish language interpreter to assist them with public comment at all Board of Supervisors meetings. “The public service seeks to help inform and engage community members,” said the County in a statement.
In addition to the interpretation services, closed captioning or subtitles for live and recorded videos of Board of Supervisors meetings will continue to be available on the County website, per the County, which added that closed captions can also be seen during live and rebroadcasted TV coverage of the board meetings on Contra Costa Television channels.
Info about Board of Supervisors meetings, such as meeting dates and agendas, can be found at the County website under “Board & District Agendas;” the “Calendar” or “News” sections on the homepage also feature board meetings. The next Board of Supervisors meeting is Tues., March 23 at 9 a.m.
