With destructive wildfires occurring annually in California, the need for electronics restoration services is growing.

Aakash IM Inc. is in that business, and this week the company was granted a conditional use permit by the San Pablo Planning Commission to operate within two suites of the Rumrill Commercial Center at 2031 Rumrill Blvd.

The company helps homeowners, businesses and insurance companies clean electronics to make them usable after a fire or water damage.

“The company cleans, disinfects and deodorizes the electronics components and other items,” according to city documents, and also provides training to local contractors and insurance adjusters on how and when to restore electronics and other soft goods.

Aakash IM Inc. currently has two employees and expects to add employees as the business grows.

The conditional use permit was granted to Aakash IM Inc. on the condition that the business provide confirmation that its practices comply with environmental regulations.

Owner Ankit Vakharia said a lot of adjusters and insurance companies want his business to get started with the wildfires happening. Restoring electronics back to the point they can be used again saves insurance companies a lot of money, he said.
