The Contra Costa County Tax Collector’s Office mailed this year’s security property tax bills later than usual due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so it has extended the due date for the first installment from Nov. 1 through Dec. 10.
Taxpayers have until Dec. 10 to pay without penalty.
With the Tax Collector’s Office limited to appointments only due to the COVID-19 public health order, taxpayers are encouraged to mail their payment or pay online.
“To mail in payment, please use the return window envelopes provided with the tax bill,” officials said. “Include the installment coupon(s) with the payment. Please note, we honor only the USPS cancellation postmark as the receipt date.”
To pay online, go to www.cctax.us and select Pay Online.
You can also pay by phone by dialing (925) 957-5280 and following the prompts. Call Center Hours are from 9 a.m. and 4 p.m, Monday through Friday, except holidays.
