A good Samaritan who found a missing 4-year-old child in San Pablo didn’t only receive praise, but also a gesture of gratitude: a delicious turkey.

On Thursday, officers responded to a report the child had gone missing, police said. Thankfully, “Mrs. Dina” found the child and contacted police, leading to the child’s safe return to their mother.

As a thank you, Officer Oswald gave Mrs. Dina a voucher for a free turkey.

The voucher is part of new program called Project Gobble Gobble, which has San Pablo police officers handing out gift certificates for free turkeys to people they find have committed an act of kindness.

1st Nor Cal Credit Union is sponsoring Project Gobble Gobble in partnership with local supermarkets including Grocery Outlet, Palm Halal Market, Las Montanas Supermarket and FoodMaxx.

Also receiving a turkey voucher were these two young gentleman, who officers found  handing out Fresh Squeezed Lemonade for donations to the less fortunate:

Another turkey voucher went to a gracious Mr. Baeza, who was with his son in front of Big Lots when he spoke with an officer.

“Through conversation it was discovered that Mr. Baeza works full time and also volunteers countless hours at his sons school,” police said. “He was pleased to share that his son also helps around the house by completing all his chores.”
