An investigation into animal abuse led to the serving Tuesday of a search warrant in San Pablo, the arrest of the animal's owner, along with the seizure of drugs, guns and money on Tuesday, according to the San Pablo Police Department. San Pablo police worked with officers from Contra Costa Animal Services on the case, which involved a dog owner allegedly hitting his dog with a piece of metal. Few details were immediately available on the specific location of the bust and the identity of the animal owner. Animal Control officers rescued the pup. "Needless to say, the owner went to jail and officers were happy to rescue the dog and get the illegal stuff off the streets," police said, also noting, "Animal Control and San Pablo officers saved a dog... but it turns out the dog saved our community from potential violence!"
