Recently, Richmond officers responded to a report of a tampered gas pump at Valero 5430 Central Ave Richmond. Upon further investigation, pry marks were found along the outer door seam of the gas pump and a skimming device was located behind the credit card reader. These skimming devices are used to send credit card numbers and information remotely to identity thieves. All pumps should have a security seal along any opening of the pump. If this seal has been tampered with, report this to the station attendant immediately.
