A police drone was used to bust two people who were allegedly riding a stolen dirt bike recklessly in Richmond over the weekend.
On Saturday in the 1500 block of Cutting Boulevard, the police drone was deployed to monitor what police described as an unsanctioned neighborhood party that was loud and noisy.
The drone operator observed two individuals riding a dirt bike recklessly and without a helmet. The drone operator contacted RPD patrol officers, and they stopped the two dirt bike riders and discovered the bike had been stolen out of Pittsburg. The two suspects arrested on multiple charges, including vehicle theft, stolen property possession, prescription forgery, and drug possession for sale, police said.
