Alizè Johnson is representing her hometown as Miss Richmond USA 2024 in the Miss California USA pageant happening June 21-23 at the Hyatt Regency Orange County. If she emerges victorious, she’ll compete in the Miss USA pageant this fall—a.k.a., the national preliminaries for Miss Universe.

There’s just one catch…To do so, she needs a little help from her friends.

Johnson is reaching out to supporters near and far to appeal for their sponsorship via GoFundMe as she embarks on her pageant journey. “Your support will enable me to participate in the pageant and contribute to the success of the ‘Cultivate Tomorrow’ platform, positively impacting the lives of California’s youth,” she said.

The Richmond native and Kennedy High School alum is raising $1,500 to help with her registration fees, wardrobe, official headshots, photoshoots and other pageant expenses.

Johnson is a General Studies degree candidate from Grambling State University, majoring in Juvenile Behavioral Studies and minoring in Management, and is also a community organizer. Her commitment to community service sees her involved with organizations advocating the city to invest in the resources Richmond needs, she said.

The pageant competitor said her “Cultivate Tomorrow” platform focuses on building a brighter future for the youth by emphasizing education, housing, environmental awareness and addressing hunger and health challenges.

In her appeal for support, Johnson quoted Beatle John Lennon: “A dream you dream alone is only a dream, but a dream you dream together is reality.” Johnson said she dreams of becoming our state queen, but she needs us, emphasizing that a donation of any amount will help.
