Is your kid a budding Reggie Jackson? There’s still time to register your future Hall of Famer for the Richmond Little League before sign-ups close Thurs., April 15. The league is currently welcoming sign-ups for the 2021 spring season for baseball, tee ball and softball via its website or by calling the Richmond Police Activities League (RPAL) at 510-621-1221.

Opening day for the 2021 spring season will kick off Sat., April 10 with a parade of all players and coaches starting at 24th St. & Nevin Ave. and proceeding up Macdonald Ave. to Nicholl Park in Richmond. Contact Mark Torres at [email protected] for more info.

Local youth ages 4-6 years old can register for tee ball for $75 per player and 7-year-old beginners can register for $125. Baseball and softball sign-ups, which are open to youth ages 7 and up, are $125 per player and $100 for siblings. Families experiencing financial challenges due to COVID-19 are encouraged to inquire about an available scholarship program.

Fees must be paid in full before a youth will be placed on a team. Masks are mandatory and youth should have their own helmets and bring their own equipment to practice.

Adults who are able to pitch in to help the league by volunteering as a manager, coach or board member can also sign-up on the league’s website  under “Registration Info.”
