The community is rallying to support an 11-year-old Washington Elementary student’s battle against stage-four cancer.
Toussaint “Tutu” Flores was diagnosed on Sept. 5. This is the third time Tutu has fought the disease. At age 1 he was diagnosed with a Wilms tumor and had a kidney removed. At age 2 it relapsed, and now at age 11 the cancer has returned aggressively and spread to his abdomen and lungs.
Tutu and his family are enduring a long and tough treatment of about nine months and need help to cover the costs, according to a GoFundMe.
Already, the treatment has caused Tutu to lose weight, lose his appetite, and feel very tired. Even through all this, Tutu remains a kind boy who loves his family and friends, and enjoys playing competitive soccer.
The PTA at his school, Washington Elementary, says Tutu and his sister are excellent students and their mother is a dedicated volunteer. The PTA is asking the community to donate what they can, and share the fundraiser link so the family gets wide support.
Along with donations, the family appreciates thoughts, prayers and kindness from everyone in their community.
