The Richmond Commission on Aging and the City of Richmond’s Community Services-Recreation Department will host their 2nd annual Senior Wellness Clinic & Nutrition Workshop on Wednesday, Oct. 29, from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the Richmond Memorial Auditorium.

This free event is designed to support the health and well-being of older adults in Richmond and the surrounding West County communities.

Seniors and their caregivers are invited to attend a program of health screenings and educational activities focused on nutrition, chronic disease prevention, and healthy aging. Participants will be able to have blood pressure, glucose, and cholesterol checks, hear presentations from local health professionals, visit informational resource booths, and engage in question-and-answer sessions with experts in geriatrics, dietetics, and preventive health. Local organizations and service providers dedicated to senior care will also be on hand to provide information about programs and resources available in the community.

Michelle Hayes, chair of the Richmond Commission on Aging, and Bryan Harris, secretary and event coordinator, are leading the effort to bring together agencies, nonprofits, and local health providers to make this event both informative and accessible. Richmond’s Community Services-Recreation Department is assisting with logistics, outreach, and venue arrangements at the Auditorium, which offers an accessible location for the public.

Although no registration is required, those planning to attend (or bring groups from senior centers or assisted living facilities) are encouraged to notify event staff in advance. For further information, contact Bryan Harris at 510-860-2704 or via email at [email protected]
