As community members mourn the murder of a beloved small business owner, a GoFundMe fundraiser has been set up to support his family and for funeral costs.

Jerry Williams, 28, of Richmond was fatally shot Friday night at Lincoln Avenue and 8th Street, where he died at the scene, according to police and media reports. No arrests have been made.

KTVU FOX 2, which attended a candle-light vigil held at the site of the shooting, reports that Williams owned a thrift store in San Pablo and was visiting his girlfriend at the time of the incident.

“Jerry was known as a lovable, funny, sweet, hardworking man who went above and beyond to make everyone’s day better,” stated Shelvin Nadan, who organized the GoFundMe. “He meant so much to so many people and he will be missed incredibly.”

Williams’ murder marked the city’s second homicide this year. Authorities are asking anyone with information to reach out to Detective J. Guzman at 510-210-2273.
