The City of Richmond, Restorative Safety Health and Wellness Council (SHAWC) and Faith In Action East Bay are collaborating to host a free-admission “Juneteenth Silence Our Violence Leadership Summit” Friday, June 20 from 4-9 p.m. at CoBiz Richmond.
“The summit brings together youth leaders, faith activists and national voices—including Sabrina Webb, cousin of Mike Brown—for panels, performances and community-driven solutions to end gun violence,” said Nadine Argueza of Restorative SHAWC.
Organizers said the summit will include a press conference to recognize coalition members for more than a year of collaboration, as well as panel discussions, live music, art and storytelling that featuring East Bay leaders.
A diverse range of organizations will offer resources and recommendations to address community violence relating to prevention, intervention, treatment and after-care. Others at the state, county and local levels will also join the event.
Summit presenters will include: Sabrina Webb, national activist and cousin of Mike Brown, #SayHisName; Mica Herrera, Richmond youth activist; Elana Bolds, violence prevention activist, faith leader and singer; Pr. Michael Wallace, faith activist; Michelle Milam, community resource activist and poet; Florence Davis, FIAEB board member and community advocate; Kira Lee, national activist and artist; Michelle Hayes, chair, Richmond Commission on Aging; Kandice Stewart, national parenting advocate; and Zelon Harrison, chair, CA+HI NAACP Education Committee.
On Saturday, June 21, a delegation will march in solidarity with the Richmond Juneteenth Parade, which is family-friendly and open to everyone.

What’s Restorative SHAWC?
In 2024 over 40 community-based organizations and leaders came together to integrate the City and County’s gun violence prevention programs and services. By December, the group launched the state’s first safety stakeholders association — a citizen-led body training residents to eliminate gun violence block by block.
In Spring 2025, the coalition proudly received recognition from Contra Costa County Supervisors—rebranding as Restorative SHAWC to demonstrate its widening impact
